Batch Numbers and Traceability in Research Supply
Every vial we ship carries a batch number. It is a small detail on the label, but it is what makes the whole quality process traceable.
What a batch is
A batch is a single production run made under the same conditions at the same time. Because everything in a batch shares the same history, one set of test results can represent the whole run.
How traceability works
- A batch is produced and given a unique number.
- Samples from that batch are sent to an independent lab.
- The lab’s report lists the same batch or sample number.
- The batch number on your vial links you directly to that report.
Why it matters for your records
Recording the batch number in your lab notebook means you can always trace a result back to the exact material used. If two experiments behave differently, the batch number is one of the first things to compare.
Batches by warehouse
We ship from warehouses in the United States, Canada and Australia, and each warehouse can hold a different batch. The batch number and its reports are shown for each warehouse on our Lab Results page, so you can see exactly which batch will be sent to your region.
